Marigold Ridge is a clean, well designed and compact property with attentive and courteous staff. Service levels are excellent. While the on-site restaurant is clean & has good service, the menu is quite limited. The food is good but is rather inconsistent in quality (with the taste of the same dish varying quite significantly between servings!) and pricey. Overall a very positive experience. The resort organizes a sunset trek in the hill, and onto a viewing point, which is brief yet adventurous. The trek guide, Sharanappa, is well versed with the terrain and gives a good account of the flora and fauna around. Yelagiri per-se has little by way of organized action, barring a small boating lake & a nature park. The locale is great for leisurely walks coupled with salubrious weather and enchanting rural mountainside scenery. For those willing a bit of a stretch, a two hour round trek to the summit of Swamimalai is highly recommended. Rather isolated and untravelled, this is a strenuous yet worthwhile climb. Be sure to carry your own water supply since there are kiosks anywhere along the trek..
