ABOUT The paying guesthouse scheme is an invative idea which has been introduced and regularized by Rajasthan Tourism. It provides international tourists the opportunity to stay with an Indian family and get a real feel of the culture of the place. Administered by RTDC and operational in most cities. Alwar is a quiet town with a population of just over 400,000. Located 145km from Jaipur and 170km from Delhi, it lies in the hills of the Aravalli range and is surrounded by lakes, forests and palaces. An important Rajput state, (Naruka clan) of Kushawha dynasty. Alwar played a vital part in the history of Rajasthan - the Rajput ruler, Maharaja Pratap Singh, carved the then state of Alwar. Hotel Kothi Rao started in 1981 by Col Shiv Ram Singh after his retirement from the army as a first house hotel in the city. It was conceived with the idea to provide insight feeling and kwledge of Indian culture, customs and rajputana traditions to the foreign and as well as Indian guest. Located at the famous landmark Moti Dungri which is 1.5km from the railway station and bus stand and 0.5km from city center. Col Rajender Singh Naruka son of late Col Shiv Ram Singh along with his son Kr.Lavkush Naruka is managing the hotel at present..
